Not sure what this comment box is even for... I may be the first forum member, if so that's cool. Came here to discuss Sailor's Guide to Earth with other fans. Killer album... Well, if the webmasters see this, the forum looks like it's still under construction and elements were copied from Bruno Mars's page, which I understand because you're working for Atlantic and all. Nothing you aren't aware of, I'm sure. Anyways, I love Sturgill's catalog and direction, and this is coming from someone with a deeply held respect for all kinds of American country, soul, rock, and blues music, Based on comments he's made, I'm almost certain Sturgill grew up with very similar musical influences as me, I remember being at my grandparent's as a child and hearing TONS of music by otis redding, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Etta James, and so many more. Anyway, looking forward to when this forum is up and running, the world is about to have a lot more Sturgill Simpson fans based on the success of his album.

The one thing that I respect about Sturgill outside of his music is that he seems very humble, he has worked his ass off to get where he is, and he keeps his family life separate from his career. He seems like a genuine family man and a genuinely relatable guy, which is what was so great about guys like Merle. It's a breath of fresh air today.
The only question I have... What the hell does "Beware the Dread Pirate Johnny Blue Skies" mean?

I couldn't imagine a cooler gift from father to on than a badass record that serves as an allegorical guide to life. Especially one as beautifully written, composed, and produced as ASGTE. Keep it up Sturgill.
